Description

An oak octagonal table by Sir Robert Lorimer (1849 -1929) for Liberty & Co.The octagonal top above a shaped apron on slow twist legs joined by a  pegged concave stretcher.

This is one of Lorimer’s iconic designs and the slow twist leg was inspired by a gothic table in Nuremberg Cathedral which he saw while on holiday with the shipping magnate and collector Sir William Burrell.
